I met Jim Briner at one of Illinois Harley-Davidson’s annual dyno shootouts. Jim has been an avid drag racer for years, a passion he shares with his father. These are pictures of Jim and the 1998 Sportster he built. He needed a rear fender to go over the slick he uses for drag racing, so Jim made a cardboard template and I formed the new fender out of steel. The rear of the fender mounts on the outside of the fender struts in the back, then narrows into the frame in the front. I will post some pictures of the final product as soon as they’re available.
