Greg Kruse

This bike is the idea of my good friend Greg Kruse. Greg designed the overall bike. He first started making a frame jig from scratch. He chose to use chrome moly tubing to make the frame out of. He welded it together himself and purchased the wheels, front end and motor from the aftermarket bike companies. At that point he had an idea for the tank. He constructed a cardboard buck of the tank that he wanted. I shaped the tank to the exact specifications that he wanted. I made the tank out of 19 gauge, and welded it with ER70s-6 filler material. I made the top in one piece, and the sides in two separate pieces. Three pieces total, for the shell of the tank. Greg liked the tank and wanted to work a little more together. He made a wooden buck for the front fender and I shaped that as well. I am currently working on a set of aluminum risers and a heat shield for the exhaust. These picture were taken in his garage. This bike was hand built in his garage with basic tools and a welder.

Greg Kruse was influenced by the design of a Fat Katz rear fender with the oil tank welded into the rear fender. This clean look was perfect for Greg’s project bike. So Greg proceeded to make his own and did all the fabrication work himself. Working with Greg has been a great experience for me and I would like to show his work along with mine on the bike as his project progresses.
